Position Title: Student Support Facilitator

 

Salary Range:  $43,734.00/Per Year                 Period of Employment: 10 months

 

Description Approved/Revised: 7/2024            FLSA Status: Non-exempt

 

Supervised by and/or Reports to: Building Administrator

 

General Responsibilities: Provides in-person classroom support to students according to demonstrated academic need.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains order and discipline while managing and supporting student engagement in the classroom environment.
  • Works with students individually and in groups to meet their academic objectives.
  • Supervises students during transition times throughout the school day.
  • Operates and troubleshoots technology to include cameras, instructional platforms, and learning tools; reports issues to IT and administration if unable to resolve them.
  • Performs administrative and non-instructional duties such as daily attendance, bus duty, etc.
  • Uses the tenants of “Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports” (PBIS) to ensure students are safe, respectful, and responsible.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requisite Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Broad knowledge of the practices, methods, and techniques used to support effective student learning and classroom management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and school administrators around demonstrated student academic needs.
  • Must be comfortable with basic technology equipment and tools.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to implement and monitor all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to monitor for student safety.
  • Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and parents. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

 

Requisite Education and Experience:

 

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must possess a minimum of 60 college credit hours, or an Associate’s Degree, or the ParaPro Certification.
  • Experience in an educational setting and/or prior teaching/instructional experience.
  • Prior experience with computers and technology is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

            Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone, and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions required.
